September 2006 was a month with thirty days. The month was marked by a controversy surrounding
statements made by Pope Benedict XVI regarding Islam, during the same week as the fifth anniversary of
the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The death of Steve Irwin, star of 'The Crocodiile Hunter' early in the
month due to a stingray attack.
Meanwhile, the Space Shuttle 'Atlantis' made a
mission to the International Space Station and a coup d' etat was carried out by
the Royal Thai Army,
ousting Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Oh... My... Gawd...! You
gotta check out this poor Korean dude. I've watched this video a million times
and it still makes me laugh hysterically! You should've seen me and Carlo watching it over and over again, rolling around, our tummies aching terribly. Or Ching and I deafening everyone in the house with our loud, boisterous laughter.
Good luck to you and your tummies!
LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE
This guy was allegedly
attacked by a shark! He managed to escape, losing only a small part of his body. Bwahahaha!!!!!
Aww, c'mon! I'm sure this got even just a snicker out of you!
Hehe. It's normal to feel down once in a
while. Our reasons may vary... loneliness, loss, homesickness, wrong decisions
made, being wronged by someone, or we may feel down for no reason whatsoever! I
believe in the old but true cliche, "Laughter is the Best Medicine". It may not
provide you with a solution to your problem, but it will make you feel better
even for just a while, and that is what counts (and saves lives).
I am familiar with the whole process of being
happy one minute and being sad the next, especially since I am far from my
family and friends. I don't drown in my sorrows, though. When we feel blue, we
need something or someone to make us laugh and feel better. I'm gonna try to do
that for you guys out there by sharing with you pictures, videos, or stories
that made me laugh. Please do leave comments or message me if you have
something that you think will make me laugh, okay? Let the laughter begin!
WHAT GOES DOWN MUST COME UP
I finally finished redesigning my website!! Yay! When i published it early this
morning it still had a few glitches, but everything's okay now. Thank you, kuya
noel, for telling me about web design programs! I hope I learn more about website design. With
all the time I've got in my hands, this could help me make extra moolah!
I was so down when my former
BLOG site messed up, and because of that I felt too lazy to set up a new BLOG
and to update my website. But now... new BLOG and new webby! Very productive
days and nights I've been having, huh? I'm now a happy, happy girl! Haha!So
thank you for checking out my new webby. Oh, and don't forget
to sign my Guest Book! Hehe.... Later, y'all! Gotta get ready for work now.

SINGERS AND SPORTS STARS SWINGIN' IN SAIGON
The past few days were
quite fun and interesting. Tennis Superstars Nicolas Kiefer, Rainer Schuettler,
and Carlos Moya (plus his Coach), were in town for a tournament and were staying
at the Caravelle Hotel. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them at the SSB.
Nicolas and I seemed to have a lot in common when it came to going out and
having a good time, so Ching and I brought the guys to other bars around Saigon.
It was funny how just the six of us would go someplace, but would end up with a
big table full of people we didn’t know. So that’s what it’s like to be famous!
I mean, I’ve experienced going around town and getting recognized as “the singer
at the Caravelle Hotel”, but never something like this! I guess that’s why I
have never dreamed of being famous, since there are times when I’d want to just
spend a quiet evening out with my friends. Hehe….
But I
didn’t really know how famous these guys were until the boys of the band and
their other fans told us of their rankings. I have never watched a game of
tennis in my life, though my uncle is Coach of the Philippine Tennis Team. Hehe.
So I thought these guys would be flamboyant airheads. But no, they were really
very nice and quite shy even. They even hung out at our house after the bars
closed down.
To our new friends, Nicolas Kiefer, Carlos Moya, and Rainer
Schuettler… more power to you guys! I will try to watch some of your games from
now on! Hehehe.
(NO MORE) MONEY THERAPY
I felt so down in the dumps the other day, so I spent a lot of money yesterday.
Why does doing that make women feel good? Damn.
Ching and I spent the
afternoon at the Hair Salon, where I spent US$40 to have my hair colored. After
that, we had a scrumptious dinner at the newly renovated Nineteen Restaurant at
the Caravelle Hotel. Yum yum (thanks, Ching)! And then we went shopping at the
Hotel’s Boutique for some tops and accessories… a good US$60 worth. I went home
with my wallet crying, but I was feeling a lot better. I’m so happy with my new
hair (it’s still Shakira-curly. It's just straight in the pic cos they ironed it
at the Salon), and my new tops and accessories look so good on stage.
So who
says money can’t buy happiness? Hehe.
SwEet DREAMS ARE MADE OF THIS
I am soooo infatuated with Tommy Lee! Damn! Why did I have to get hooked on
Rockstar Supernova?!? Ah, TLee… Those boyish looks... Those cute eyes that
always seem to be twinkling… those yummy lips that look so kissably soft… that
throaty voice and laugh… that devil-may-care attitude… that who’s-your-daddy
body… that childlike yet manly demeanor… that naughty smile that makes me bite
my lip…. Arrrrrgh!
Joey asked me if I knew any of Motley Crue’s hits. I
didn’t. Hehe. So I downloaded some of their songs (thank you, Limewire). But to
tell you honestly (and this may sound bad, since I’m in a band), I don’t care
for his music. I just want him!! And yes, I saw the Pam-TLee vid. But I wanted
him way before I saw that. Ok fine, maybe I wanted him even more after seeing
it.
Now how do we get TLee to Saigon…?
I WISH FOR WORLD PEACE
We have all seen Agent
Orange donation boxes everywhere. I never really understood what it was all
about until I went to the War Museum. There I saw pictures of Agent Orange
victims, and believe me, it wasn’t a pretty sight.
Agent Orange was the main
chemical used by the U.S. during the Vietnam War. These chemicals were used to
defoliate the jungle, denying the Vietnamese guerillas of cover. Those who were
exposed to the chemicals during the war suffered various ailments ranging from
skin disease to cancer. And now, four decades later, Agent Orange continues to
wage its war not only against the Vietnamese, but also against the Americans.
Life and limb has been, and is continually being lost due to Agent Orange.
I
want you to get the devastating effect of Agent Orange thru your heads, but I do
not know how to get my facts and emotions across to you. So instead, let me
share with you this article:
Let’s hope that this instance never occur again in the
history of mankind. I have searched the www for information on how and where to
send-in donations for the victims of Agent Orange here in Vietnam, but am
unsuccessful. I have made a few inquiries and will update this BLOG entry as
soon as I get some answers.
"Fragile" - Sting
If blood will
flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the
colour of the evening sun.
Tomorrow's
rain will wash the stains away
But something
in our minds will always stay.
Perhaps this
final act was meant to clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing
comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those
born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget
how fragile we are.
On and on the
rain will fall
Like tears
from a star, like tears from a star
On and on the
rain will say
How fragile we
are, how fragile we are
WAR WAR STUPID
I went to the War Museum with my
friend, Gary. There were a lot of really gruesome pictures showing how the
Americans killed everyone in sight, regardless of age or gender. Six year old
boys were gunned to death by passing tanks, men were beheaded, and women were
mercilessly killed. I felt sick to my stomach after seeing all those pictures,
especially since it seemed America was at war with them only because they wanted
to conquer Vietnam. Sheesh! Wasn’t 50 states enough for them?!? Ate Nina told me
though, that if you visit the War Museum in the U.S., then you would understand
that America was in Vietnam to help the government fight the rebels. Anyway…
whatever. That kind of violence isn’t something I really want to debate about.
War is war. It is cold and totally wrong.
The Vietnamese are such fierce
warriors, though. True, the ratio of their fatalities was a lot more compared to
that of the Americans’, but they did kill more Americans than WWI and WWII did.
Can you believe that?! Take note that they had no advanced weaponry like grenade
launchers, tanks, fighter planes, etc. Oh boy, I wouldn’t want to get on their
wrong side ever!
