HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHAKI!

Feliz Cumpleanos a Shakira!!

Shakira was born on February 2, 1977 (I was born only a month later! Hehehe). At 30 years of age, she has won two Grammy Awards, one American Music Award, eight Latin Grammy Awards, and is the highest selling Colombian artist of all time (nearly fifty million copies of her albums have been sold). Also, her song 'Hips Don't Lie' holds the record for the most played song in the history of radio (according to the Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems).

I'm thrilled that Shaki & I were born only a month apart. Okay, perhaps that means nothing (hehe), but I still want to make something out of it, since she is a big influence of mine when it comes to performing onstage. My favorite Shakira songs are Underneath Your Clothes, No, Objection, La Tortura, & Hips Don't Lie.

Okay kids, don't forget to check out the website of this lady, who is undoubtedly one of the sexiest women in the world!

SAIGON DELI

Isn't it amazing how there are just so many beautiful people in the world? Awesome!!

WINE, DINE, & SOME FINE FRIENDS OF MINE

After the staff party, there was still no electricity in the house, so our very kind F&B Manager, Mr. Costa, gave us girls a room at the hotel. Yay! Ching & I had a very relaxing afternoon there.

After work, our friend, Gee (another Filipina band vocalist here in Saigon) joined us at the hotel. HipHop music, a big bag of Doritos, beef & seafood skewers, a yummy sushi & sashimi platter, 2 bottles of wine, and a lot of girl talk. That was truly a fun night!

Better than sex, drugs, and Rock & Roll! Haha!

VAMP ON THE VERANDAH

We perform for a lot of the hotel's inside parties, and one of them is the Annual Christmas/New Year Staff Party. This means needing to sing & dance at lunch time. Which means I have to wake up early again. Aaaarrrrgh!!!

Waking up a couple of hours before noon, I made my way downstairs for some good ole Vietnamese coffee to try and wake up... And then the lights went out. Geez! So I decided to go to my room's verandah for the very first time ever since I moved to the 3rd floor. There, I drank my coffee while looking down in awe & wonder at the people scurrying about below me. It's amazing how many things happen this early in the day! Hehe....

Surprisingly, I enjoyed having my "morning" coffee out there. I felt like a normal person. Haha! Maybe waking up early isn't so bad after all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE & ALL!

New Year's Eve at the Caravelle was great! We played from 8pm-2am, and I was dead tired, but it was so much fun!

The countdown was loud & joyous, & there was just so much love in the air as people greeted one another. As soon as midnight struck, the party went on full blast. People drank & danced with their party hats on, waving their noise-makers in the air. No one seemed to be getting tired (that was a bit scary. Haha!) as we belted out dance hit after dance hit. Everyone's adrenaline was pumping!

In the end, Ching & I sat down for some champagne to celebrate a successful New Year's Eve Show. I hope the whole year is gonna be this much fun! Woohoo!
