October 2006 was a month with thirty-one days, like all Octobers, that began on a Sunday. The month was marked
by a nuclear test by North Korea that prompted that
passing of Resolution 1718 by the United Nations Security Council. Also at the
United Nations, Ban Ki-moon was elected to succeed Kofi Annan as the secretary-general and Belgium, Indonesia, Italy and South Africa were elected to two-year terms on the
Security Council; the four nations and Ban Ki-moon are expected to begin their
tenures in January 2007. A fifth temporary on the Security Council was still up
for grabs at the end of the month. The Nobel Prizes for the year were awarded, with Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. Lesotho adopted a new flag, Several
national elections took place around the world during October 2006 and a scandal involving
former United States Congressman Mark Foley was at the forefront just ahead of
November elections in the United States. Microsoft Corporation
released version 7 of its Internet Explorer internet browser software.
Carlo gave me this sexy new toy that's so handy it fits right into the palm of my hand. This cute little thing is a videocam, digicam, webcam, recorder, mp3 and movie player all in one!
So we're gonna be having a lot of fun right here on my webby, guys! Oohlala! I'm soooo excited!
LONDON BRIDGE
Latest song on my repertoire. Former Black Eyed Peas muse went solo, and here is the outcome. A very catchy tune. Fergie confesses, though, that "london bridge" is actually a sex-act which involves two women and men forming a bridge-like shape during sex, so.... Hehehe.
But really, the song is basically all about girls getting drunk and wanting to party without any hassle whatsoever.
A PASSION FOR PURPLE
I just love the color purple! I miss my purple room back home, and I am once
again yearning to go out and buy all purple colored stuff for my room. Problem
is the hassle of bringing it all back home from Vietnam. Hehe. Let me give
you a run down of the many different shades of my favorite
color: Tyrian Purple - As worn by Alexander the Great, emperors,
and kings during the Minoan civilization. Thus, purple has always been known as
a symbol of royalty. Royal Purple -
Popularized by the rock celebrity, Prince, also known as “The Purple Majesty”
and “His Royal Badness” (remember his film, song, and album called Purple
Rain?). This shade is also very popular among African-Americans in fashion and
home design. Generic/Vulgar Purple - Popularized by Welch’s Concord
grape jelly. Artists Pigment Purple - Considered by artists as the
real purple, with regard to the Munsell color system. This helps them clearly
distinguish purple from violet, since this red-violet color is between violet
and magenta in the color wheel. Pencils labeled “purple” are of this color,
which is closest to the original Tyrian purple. Electric Purple -
Considered as pure purple by computer artists, it is the equivalent of the
Artists Pigment Purple on the computer. Psychedelic Purple-
Made to be used on psychedelic black light paintings, its name came about as it
was very popular among the hippies, and was the favorite color of Jimi Hendrix
(remember his song, Purple Haze?). Check out The Purple Store (http://www.purplestore.com/) and buy (me) something!
Haha!
TLEE CRANK PRANK BLOOPERS
Isn't he just the most adorable
guy ever? Awesome! Hehehe...
BE YOURSELF & 5 OTHER CLICHES
This is a Toby Rand original
(cute RS Supernova finalist from Oz). Evs, dude! This song is awesome! I'm
lovin' it! I swear, I'm gonna be adding this to my repertoire real
soon. So
here it is, as performed by Rockstar Supernova and their frontman, Lukas
Rossi.
SOFTEE POO
So you like Softee ice cream,
huh? At the malls in Manila these cost only US$0.05. Now I know why!
Hehe.
THANK YOU, MR. SINGAPORE!
To my secret admirer from the
tip of the Malay Peninsula... Thank you so much for reminding me how yummy apple
scents actually are. And what a way to remind me! I haven't had a fruity
fragrance for ages, and I am soooo loving the perfume you sent me all the way
from Singapore! Much appreciated. I hope other men follow suit. Hahaha! Again,
thank you!
NOPE
I'm finally chatting with my mom
again! Their phone line went dead for weeks after that last big storm hit
Manila. Thank God she can go online again now. Of course first thing she did was
read my BLOG, and our chat session after that went something like
this: MOM: Your cousin's here. She already has a
boyfriend. ME: Ewwwwww! MOM: She prayed and asked for
a sign. So you should pray for that too. ME: It's not time yet.
MOM: Well how come, in your BLOG, you keep saying
you wanna go home cos men there are assh*les? I read that and thought you were
getting desperate. ME: Haha! I was just feeling down when I wrote
that. Was having a sad and lonely night... Everyone has that once in a while,
right? That's normal. MOM: Yeah, that happens to me
too. ME: See? So it's nothing. It's normal. Wait, I
better write something down on my BLOG about this, cos other people might think
I'm desperate. I don't want guys taking advantage of the wrong information and
perception they'll have of me when they read my BLOG. Hehehe. So guys, no, I am not
desperate. Don't even think about it! Ha!
COOL
The newest addition to my
repertoire. A song by Gwen Stefani about how former lovers remain friends years
after their relationship ends. They say the lyrics, like that of Don't Speak, tells of
her love-story with former No Doubt bassist, Tony Kanal. It's funny how, in the music
video, Gwen's ex-boyfriend's present girlfriend was played by Tony Kanal's
real-life girlfriend, Erin Lokitz. Cute, huh?! It would've been better if Tony
played himself, though, I think. Hehe. Anyway, doesn't Gwen look just so
ooh-la-latina as a brunette (which is her original hair color)? I can't wait to have my
ex-boyfriends, as the song goes, 'call me by my new last name'. Hmmm... I would
need to find a new boyfriend first to even get there. Tough luck.
Haha!
